StoryTown Radio Show: 19th and 100 (Celebrating Suffrage)
Come celebrate Women’s History Month and the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment on March 23, 7:00 p.m. at the International Storytelling Center as StoryTown presents its episode, “19th and 100.” Also appearing is a special music guest who is making their debut with the radio show, Momma Molasses.
This one-hour live production is filled with stories about local women leaders, past and present, as well as stories from local pages of history about women in Tennessee who were part of the Suffrage movement. Some of these stories come from archives of oral stories collected from the Daughters of the American Revolution. Other stories focus on business leaders, as well as women in politics like former Mayor of Jonesborough, the late Tobie Bledsoe.
