ARC&D Tennessee Stream Team Hosting Streambank Stabilization Workshop in Jonesborough, TN

We are pleased to announce a Tennessee Stream Team Workshop, taking place:

Date: Thursday, March 19, 2026

Time: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. ET

Location: 236 Charlie Carson Rd, Jonesborough, TN 37659 (Google Maps link in event page)

This workshop will include an initial site walk and assessment, followed by rotating volunteer work groups where participants will receive hands-on instruction in key riverbank stabilization techniques. These include sand bag check dam installation, rill erosion abatement, live staking, bare-root planting, seeding and matting—all essential practices for protecting and restoring our streambanks. What to Wear: Please arrive in outdoor workwear with sturdy shoes or boots. While gloves will be provided, volunteers are welcome to bring their own. Water waders or muck boots are helpful for streamside work. Lunch: Simple sandwiches, chips, and drinks will be provided (including a vegetarian option). We encourage all volunteers to bring a reusable water bottle. RSVP: Please let us know you are coming by visiting our website at arcd.org/workshops/ We’d like to thank our partners UT Extension Institute of Agriculture, and TN Department of Agriculture Division of Forestry.
