The Pinnacle 5K

The Pinnacle, the region’s premier lifestyle shopping destination, is becoming a favorite of area runners and will hold its 3rd annual Pinnacle 5K run/walk on August 5th. The course is known for being relatively flat and fast … and what’s waiting at the finish is a fantastic feast!
As in the past, all proceeds will benefit the United Ways of Bristol, Elizabethton, Johnson City, Kingsport and Southwest Virginia. The popular kids’ half-mile run will begin at 8 a.m., followed by The Pinnacle 5K beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The course will start and finish at Johnny Brusco’s and will run entirely on the property of The Pinnacle shopping center. Along the way you’ll pass by all the fabulous Pinnacle stores including Bass Pro Shops, the area’s largest Belk and many stores exclusive to the region like Marshalls, Loft Outlet, Francesca’s and Versona. But only window shop, because the race is timed and there are prizes available in more than a dozen categories for men’s, women’s and kids’ age groups.
“This is becoming such a fun event at The Pinnacle,” explains Pinnacle Property Manager Heather Hill. “In the past, many of our retailers have offered specials on race day, and Johnny Brusco’s will again sponsor a brunch after the race for all participants. It’s really a great atmosphere and supports such a great cause.”

Individuals who prefer not to participate but would still like to help can do so by volunteering on the day of the event. Packet pickup will be Friday, August 4th, from 5-7 p.m., at Uncle Buck’s Restaurant at Bass Pro Shops, or Saturday, August 5th, from 6:30-8 a.m. at Johnny Brusco’s.
