Twilight Alive Concert Series returns to Downtown Kingsport
Twilight Alive – one of the most popular concert series in the region – will soon be jammin’ on the streets of downtown Kingsport this summer, offering fans a fantastic lineup of country, rock, bluegrass and more.
As with previous years, this year’s concert series features eight weeks of free live music in the downtown area, which includes Kingsport’s annual Red, White and BOOM Celebration on Saturday, July 4.
The Twilight Alive concerts take place in the 100 block of Broad Street on Friday nights beginning at 7 p.m. Bring your favorite folding chair, enjoy dinner at a downtown restaurant or choose from a variety of food, drink and beer vendors who will be on site.
“For the past 20 years, the Twilight Alive Concert Series has entertained thousands and created lasting memories for the folks in attendance,” said Kingsport City Manager Chris McCartt. “We’re pleased to announce this year’s lineup and are excited to be bringing these dynamic and impressive bands to the Model City.”

About the City of Kingsport
Founded in 1917, the City of Kingsport (pop. 55,400) is located on the Tennessee-Virginia border at the crossroads of I-81 and I-26 near the geographic center of the eastern United States. The city is widely known as a planned community, designed by renowned city planner John Nolen and wrapping around the foot of Bays Mountain – a 3,750-acre park, nature preserve, planetarium and observatory. Kingsport is recognized as an International Safe Community by the National Safety Council, a Healthier Tennessee community, and won the 2009 Harvard Innovations in American Government Award for its higher education initiatives. While many city names are duplicated throughout the U.S., there’s only one Kingsport – a fact that invokes community pride, known locally as the “Kingsport Spirit.” For more information, please visit www.kingsporttn.gov.
