Wine Grape Introductory Class

March 30, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Villa Nove Vineyards, 1877 Dry Hill Road, Butler, TN (423-768-3633) will host Dr. Lockwood, UT viticulture specialist, for all individuals interested in growing grapes in the High Country region.  Dr. Lockwood will speak about vineyard location and varietals to consider in a potential vineyard.

With the new American Viticulture designation for our area, “The Appalachian High Country AVA”, this information is vital in developing sustainable wine grapes to be used by the wineries in the AVA area.

This meeting is open to anyone interested in beginning a vineyard or expanding their vineyard.  There will be valuable information for the commercial vineyard or the hobby grower.  Come out on Thursday, March 30th at 7 p.m. to Villa Nove Vineyards.

An Extension van will depart from the Watauga County at 5:30 PM on 3/30. Seating is limited to five people in the van on a first-come, first-served basis, but additional growers are welcome to register and carpool on their own if/once the van fills up.
