ARC&D Hosts a 3 Day “Women Preserving Farmland Workshop” in Greeneville, TN The Appalachian Resource Conservation & Development Council (ARC&D) will host a three day “Women Preserving Farmland Workshop” in partnership with Dana Ensor of Grand Oak Farm and Green Earth Connection. This workshop will equip women land owners with the tools and knowledge they need to preserve their farmland for future generations of farmers. Dates: August 24-26, 2026 Time: 11:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. ET (all three days) Location: Rural Resources Food & Farm Education Center, Greeneville, TN Farmland is one of our most valuable resources, but it continues to be lost to development. Women play an increasingly important role in agriculture, making up more than one-third of U.S. farm producers. Research shows that women farmers are deeply committed to caring for the land and preserving it for future generations. Despite their contributions, many women farmers face challenges such as limited access to training, resources, and support. These barriers can make it more difficult to plan for the long-term success of their farms. This three day workshop brings together women farmers and agricultural professionals to share knowledge, address common challenges, and provide practical tools for managing and sustaining farmland. Each participant will receive a toolkit, including the University of Tennessee’s Planning Today for Tomorrow Farms – A Workbook for TN Farm Families. If you’re interested in how to use, conserve and preserve your farmland, come and start the conversation with ARC&D at this engaging two day workshop. Registration is $30 and lunch is included each day. Questions can be directed to Rachel@arcd.org or by calling (423) 427 – 0560.
