Reel in the Action: Bassmaster College Classic Bracket

This fall, all eyes turn to Northeast Tennessee as Watauga Lake hosts the 2025 Bassmaster College Classic Bracket, September 26–29. With just eight of the nation’s top collegiate anglers going head-to-head in an intense elimination-style format, this tournament isn’t just about catching fish, it’s about launching careers.

Big Stakes. Big Bass. Even Bigger Views.

The winner doesn’t just walk away with bragging rights, they earn a spot in the 2026 Bassmaster Classic, exclusive invites to compete in the 2026 St. Croix Bassmaster Opens presented by SEVIIN in both divisions, and the use of a fully rigged Nitro boat and a Toyota Tundra for the season. It’s the ultimate proving ground where talent meets opportunity on the pristine waters of Watauga Lake, surrounded by the stunning Appalachian Mountains.

Whether you’re here to witness heart-pounding competition, soak in breathtaking scenery, or discover the tastes and scenes from Butler to Elizabethton, and into Johnson City, this is your front-row ticket to an unforgettable weekend filled with excitement, passion, and big-time fishing action.

Mark your calendar and get ready! Northeast Tennessee is ready to welcome you to the biggest bass showdown of the season.

Why Watauga Lake?

Spread out over 6,400 acres, Watauga Lake is a bass battleground like no other. With deep waters packed full of largemouth and smallmouth bass, it’s a playground that keeps anglers on their toes and the competition fierce.

Thanks to Tennessee’s Bill Dance Signature Lakes program, the lake has been leveled up with improved habitats and easy access, making it one of the state’s hottest spots to cast a line.

But it’s not just about the fish. Nestled in the wild beauty of the Appalachian Mountains and tucked inside the Cherokee National Forest, Watauga offers jaw-dropping views and outdoor vibes that make every moment here something special.

If you want a destination that blends adventure and breathtaking views, Watauga Lake is calling your name.
