Kingsport Art Crawl to showcase talents of local artists
Kingsport Cultural Arts is pleased to announce a downtown art crawl will take place in connection to the Downtown Kingsport Association’s monthly Shop and Hop event.
On the first Thursday of each month, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., downtown arts businesses will be participating in the Art Crawl. Visit any participating location to pick up a stamp card which includes a map of all of the downtown arts businesses and start collecting stamps.
Once you complete your card, leave it with the final location filled out with your name and phone number to be entered into a prize drawing.
The November prizes are – BOGO Mercy Berry Art Class, a $20 Inspire Wine Bar gift card, an Inventor Center swag bag and a Clay Gurus Class gift card.
Special events this month are:
–          15% off purchases at Inspire Wine Bar with a partial or completed stamp card.
–          Special exhibits at Create Appalachia and Impressions Fine Art.
–          Open House at The Inventor Center.
–          Clay demonstrations at The Clay Gurus
An art crawl is a self-guided event where participants are encouraged to explore these various art venues, see the creations they have for sale and maybe visit an establishment you’ve never visited before.
“The art crawl is a wonderful chance to explore our downtown art galleries and businesses and check out the latest creations of our local artists,” said Program Leader Linore Huss.

About the City of Kingsport
Founded in 1917, the City of Kingsport (pop. 55,400) is located on the Tennessee-Virginia border at the crossroads of I-81 and I-26 near the geographic center of the eastern United States. The city is widely known as a planned community, designed by renowned city planner John Nolen and wrapping around the foot of Bays Mountain – a 3,750-acre park, nature preserve, planetarium and observatory. Kingsport is recognized as an International Safe Community by the National Safety Council, a Healthier Tennessee community, and won the 2009 Harvard Innovations in American Government Award for its higher education initiatives. While many city names are duplicated throughout the U.S., there’s only one Kingsport – a fact that invokes community pride, known locally as the “Kingsport Spirit.” For more information, please visit www.kingsporttn.gov.
