|Recurring Event (See all)
An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, repeating until June 6, 2026

The Greene County Partnership, in partnership with the Cherokee National Forest and Friends of the Cherokee National Forest, is proud to present the 3rd Annual Firefly Festival. This is an immersive, nature-based experience celebrating one of the region’s most enchanting natural phenomena.
This year’s festival will take place over four evenings: May 29 and 30 and June 5 and 6. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore designated forest areas during peak firefly viewing season while learning about forest ecology, conservation, and the unique species that make this landscape special.
To protect sensitive habitats and ensure a high-quality visitor experience, attendance is limited and tickets will be awarded through a lottery system. The ticket lottery will open on February 23 and remain open until May 1. Lottery winners will be notified via email with additional event details and instructions.
The Firefly Festival reflects a collaborative commitment to conservation, education, and responsible outdoor recreation. More information about programming and logistics will be shared with ticket recipients closer to the event dates.
