The Jackson Theatre Continues Speakeasy Cinema Series with Night Nurse Screening
The Jackson Theatre invites film lovers to step back into Hollywood’s Golden Age with another installment of its Speakeasy Cinema series on Wednesday, February 18 at 7 PM. This month’s featured film is Night Nurse (1931), a gripping pre-code drama that blends suspense with early-era glamour.
In Night Nurse, a young nurse caring for two children begins to suspect they are the targets of a sinister murder plot. As she races to uncover the truth, she puts herself in danger to protect them from a tragic fate. The film stars Barbara Stanwyck and Joan Blondell in standout performances from the early sound era.
This Pay What You Can screening continues The Jackson Theatre’s Speakeasy Cinema series, which runs throughout the year and celebrates classic films from the silent and early sound eras. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy cocktails, mocktails, and light bites before the film.
