Kurt Sutton- “Mark Twain and Mr. Clemens, Tonight”

August 4, 2018 @ 7:00 pm
|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 3:00 pm, repeating until August 5, 2018

$12

The act is full of clever wit and satire as an elderly Clemens hobbles around his parlor, occasionally sitting down to play a tune or put on his Twain façade for a narrative tall tale. As Sutton sees it, it’s a night with the character of Mark Twain, as presented by Sam Clemens, played by Kurt Sutton. What makes Sutton’s rendition unique, he said, is that he doesn’t actually play Mark Twain. There’s a subtle difference. Rather, he plays Samuel Clemens, an intellectual icon that created Twain as a means of telling stories. Unlike other Mark Twain impersonations, Sutton periodically performs music, as Clemens was a musician himself. Since Twain was a well-known writer AND humorist, this night at HH will be quite informative and entertaining. Unlike other Mark Twain impersonations, Sutton periodically performs music, as Clemens was a musician himself.
