StoryTown Radio Show: Appalachian Folk Tales
Appalachian folk tales and sayings this month on StoryTown
This month’s StoryTown Radio Show takes place Monday, May 23 at 7 p.m. at the McKinney Center. Tickets are $10 and available at Jonesborough.com/tickets or by calling the Jonesborough Visitors Center at 423.753.1010.
The StoryTown Radio Show’s theme this month will be look at the tales and talk that make Northeast Tennessee unique.
Anne G’Fellers-Mason, director of the Heritage Alliance, will write this production, which is based on local stories. These stories are steeped in the culture of this region, and reflect the heart and humor passed down through generations.
Other stories include true stories collected from the community and developed into skits by members of the McKinney Center Writers Group.
Music guests will be Rheva and Keegan playing traditional Appalachian and Celtic music.
