Jonesborough Flag Day Ceremony
The State of Franklin Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Jonesborough Flag Committee will host a Flag Day ceremony on Tuesday, June 14 at 12 p.m. at the Jonesborough Town Hall in front of the flag pole. Mayor Chuck Vest will speak, Rep. Alexander will present a flag that was flown over the capital and it will be retired.
Following this event, a patriotic-themed coloring contest will be held in the Herald & Tribune. Participants can turn in the coloring page at the Jonesborough Visitors Center, located at 117 Boone Street. A winner will be announced on Friday, July 8.
Patriotic rocks will be hidden throughout downtown Jonesborough starting June 14 until Fourth of July weekend.
Downtown merchants will decorate their window fronts in anticipation for Jonesborough’s Fourth of July celebration. They will be decorated from June 14 until after Fourth of July weekend. Participants are encouraged to vote for their favorite window front and can do so at Jonesborough.com starting June 14. The storefront winner will receive a prize, and will be announced on Friday, July 8.
