Spirit of the Harvest

Join the Cobb family and their friends as they celebrate the harvest. Living history demonstrations such as hearthside cooking, apple butter and apple cider will be on the historic site. Storytelling and other activities will take place throughout the day.
Featured Activities
- Saltmaking– Jim Bordwine, from Saltville VA, will be demonstrating traditional saltmaking
- Storytelling- Members of Jonesborough Storytellers Guild will tell historic and family friendly stories
- Music- Students of the Appalachian Music Teachers Associtiation will perform
- Crafts- for an additional $2 per craft, children can dip a candle or make a cornshuck creation
- Living History Tours- Historic Interpreters will guide you through the historic home of Rocky Mount
- Frontier Academy– special guided tours of food preservation activities, designed for adults
$5 Admission per person. Children under age 5 are admitted free.
Members are admitted free.

Group rates are available for groups of twelve or more that make reservations.
