It’s @csxsantatrain day! 🎅🚂 The @officialcsx San It’s @csxsantatrain day! 🎅🚂

The @officialcsx Santa Train is an Appalachian holiday tradition that began in 1943 as the “Santa Claus Special” to thank coal miners and their families during World War II. Initially, volunteers threw candy and small toys from a moving passenger train, and the event has since evolved into a large-scale operation that distributes thousands of gifts to thousands of families across a 110-mile route from Kentucky to Tennessee. The tradition is known for bringing holiday cheer and is a significant community event in the region.

Stop by and see @jcrailroadexperience’s very own Santa Train exhibit in @visitjohnsoncitytn.
