17th Annual Tennessee Ridge Runner Motorcycle Rally

Summer has arrived in Northeast Tennessee! With the increase of temperatures, the summer riding season is in full force, bringing thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts to Johnson City from around the country and beyond. To celebrate the beginning of the season, Northeast Tennessee Chapter 77 of the Southern Cruisers Riding Club will be hosting the 17th Annual Tennessee Ridge Runner Motorcycle Rally from June 23 through 26 at Holiday Inn on W Springbrook Drive in Johnson City.
On Saturday, June 25, Southern Cruisers invite the public to participate in a guided benefit ride showcasing the South’s greatest motorcycle rides, The Southern Dozen. Registration for the ride is $10 per person, with all proceeds going to support expenses incurred by families being treated at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Public registration begins at 9am, and the benefit ride begins at 10am. Afterwards, there will be a gathering with music, games, prizes, and a chance to meet riders from throughout the United States, Canada, and even Sweden! The ride and post event begin and end at Holiday Inn.
The Southern Dozen is a series of rides that begin in Johnson City and go out into Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, and Western North Carolina. These thirteen rides are represented through easy-to-use itineraries, along more than 1,100 miles of scenic roadways. Lodging, shopping, cultural attractions, dining, outdoor activities, and historical sites are highlighted along each ride, with the beauty of the region being the connective theme throughout them all.
“Motorcycle/car tourism brings tremendous economic impact to Johnson City and our region each year. We welcome motorcycle rallies and car clubs to experience everything Northeast Tennessee has to offer and are proud to partner with our local Southern Cruisers Riding Club. The Tennessee Ridge Runner Motorcycle Rally is a prime example of utilizing the Southern Dozen to bring visitors from around the world to Johnson City, engage the community, and support charitable causes,” said Brenda Whitson, Executive Director of Visit Johnson City .
Due to the support of club members, local businesses, and the public, Chapter 77 of the Southern Cruisers has been able to donate over $83,000 to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The public is encouraged to join on Saturday, June 25 for a full day of fun in support of the families who utilize St. Jude for life-saving treatment.
