Ron Flanary to Speak at Thirtieth Annual Christmas Luncheon
Bristol, Virginia – Each year the Bristol Historical Association begins the holiday season with a festive Christmas Luncheon. On Sunday, December 3, 2017 the association will celebrate the season with their 30th Annual luncheon at the Bristol Train Station at 12:30pm in downtown Bristol. The guest speaker for this year’s event will be Ron Flanary, a resident of Big Stone Gap, Virginia. An avid railroad enthusiast, he will present the program entitled, A Lifetime of Railroading.
Flanary is the former Executive Director for Lenowisco Planning District Commission in Duffield, Virginia and an accomplished railroad enthusiast and consultant. He served in the U.S. Army as a personnel manager, then, served as a teacher in the Lee County Public Schools for three years before beginning at Lenowisco. The organization focuses on Community Development, Economic Development, Transportation and Public Utility Infrastructure in the counties of Lee, Scott, Wise and the town of Norton, Virginia. He retired in 2008.
The cost is $30/per person paid in advance. Please make your reservation by Monday, November 27 by mailing your check to Carter Miles, 92 Winding Way Road, Bristol, Virginia 24201. Seating will be limited and the public is invited to attend.
