Constitution Day Bell Ringing

State of Franklin, NSDAR, our partners and participants and the historic town of Jonesborough, TN thanks you for attending their third annual Constitution Week Bell Ringing. The bell ringing will take place at Oak Hill School. The program will include music, historical readings, lots of bells, and much more!
The tradition of celebrating the Constitution was started by the Daughters of the American Revolution. In 1955, DAR petitioned Congress to set aside September 17-23 annually to be dedicated for the observance of Constitution Week. The resolution was adopted by Congress and signed into law on August 2, 1956 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
