Hiking Adventure – Margarette Falls and MORE

Ready for a two-part HIKING ADVENTURE? Join us as we head out to a lovely waterfall and then offer an option to explore some remote wilderness trails in nearby Greene County TN. Along the way, we’ll experience unique geology as well as rich natural history.

We’re calling this a “hybrid hike” because it includes both a beginner’s hike and a more difficult hike – “two for the price of one!” The first portion of our adventure is relatively easy. We’ll follow a gentle uphill grade, with only one unbridged creek crossing, up to lovely Margarette Falls. After this 3 mile round trip walk, you can choose to return home, or to continue to some much more difficult nearby trails. Note that this second option is a VERY DIFFICULT hike. We’ll travel semi-maintained trails that will include numerous creek crossings, dense rhododendron thickets and frequent blowdowns. We’ll also have a chance to view remote Mary’s Falls This second part of our adventure is NOT for the “faint of heart!” – participants should be experienced hikers! Wear long pants and sturdy hiking boots. Bring plenty of food and water and extra clothing layers – weather can change quickly here in the mountains!

We’ll meet at Warriors’ Path pool parking lot, departing PROMPTLY at 7:30 AM to caravan to the trailhead. It’s about a one hour drive to the start of our hike.
