Hiking with Tools
The 2019 maintenance season is here! The month of March marks the first 3rd Saturday trip of the year.
This month we will work on the section of trail from Dennis Cove south towards the Canute Place, about 4 miles. This will be an in and out hike, so volunteers need only go as far as they are comfortable with.
The main tasks will be those of a spring walk-thru – cleaning out water diversions, lopping seasonal growth and perhaps clearing a few blowdowns.
All tools will be provided, volunteers need only to bring work gloves, wear sturdy walking shoes and long pants and have enough food and water for the day.
The meeting place will be in front of the Parkway Discount Wine and Liquor Store on South Roan Street in Johnson City at 8:30 am. Other meeting places can be arranged with prior notice.
