Iron Mountains Invitational
Runners from across the region will converge in Johnson City on Saturday, September 12, for the third annual Iron Mountains Invitational, a growing cross country event that brings elementary, middle school, and high school athletes together for a full day of competition at Winged Deer Park Lakefront.
Hosted by Visit Johnson City in partnership with David Nutter and Milligan University, the Iron Mountains Invitational has quickly established itself as a signature early-season cross country event in the region. The scenic Winged Deer Park course, located along the shores of Boone Lake and surrounded by the mountains of Northeast Tennessee, offers athletes a challenging and memorable racing experience.
Early mornings and cross country go hand in hand, and Early Bird Coffee Co. will be on-site to make sure runners, coaches, families and spectators can fuel up with a fresh cup of coffee while they cheer on their favorite athletes.
