Jewell Friend Lecture: Scott Contreras-Koterbay
ETSU’s College of Arts & Sciences presents 2017 Jewell Friend Lecture in honor of the college’s first female Dean. Dr. Contreras-Koterbay’s Lecture, “The New Aesthetic: Glitches, Digital Art, and Teleological Judgments,” explores the term “the new aesthetic” as coined by artist James Bridle in his work of curating digital artifacts and glitches in the world. Dr. Scott Contreras-Koterbay serves as a professor in ETSU’s Department of Art & Design, an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Philosophy & Humanites, and the director of the Fine & Performing Arts Scholars Program in the ETSU Honors College. This event is free and open to the general public. A modest reception will follow the presentation.
