Holiday Soups and Songs “Christmas Around the World” Comes to McKinney Center

The McKinney Center and the Yarn Exchange Radio Show are bringing their annual holiday fundraiser to the McKinney Center on December 2 at 6 p.m. Perfect for art lovers of all kinds, this event, which combines locally made pottery bowls, stories, music, and dinner, kicks off the holiday season at the McKinney Center.

Guests arrive at 6 p.m. to choose one of more than 120 hand-made ceramic bowls, made by local potters and community members. Once a bowl has been chosen, guests enjoy appetizers before entering the auditorium, where they will find dinner waiting. Salad, breads, and homemade gourmet soups in six varieties- including gluten free and vegetarian options- are served, along with an assortment of desserts.

As dinner closes, the Yarn Exchange Radio Show, along with the Jonesborough Novelty Band, perform a new sing-along production featuring stories from local residents and their adventures around the world, and a sing-along filled with Christmas songs from across the globe, as well as time-honored classics. Guests receive a sing-along booklet, so they can join the fun.
