Let’s Glow Swimming Party

January 4 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Kingsport Aquatic Center is thrilled to ring in the New Year with one of its most popular events – A Let’s Glow Swimming Party!

This special nighttime event will take place in the warm water and play pools from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on January 4. The competition pool, diving boards and rock wall will all be open during the event.

Children of all ages are invited to attend, but those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The event is limited to 200 people. Admission per person is $8 (pre-registration) and $12 (at the door). Every person must pay admission even if not swimming.

The Kingsport Aquatic Center will dim the lights and fill the pools with glow sticks of all shapes and sizes. Children can then swim in the “glow pools” and play on inflatables while their favorite music plays over the loudspeakers.

Children are encouraged to bring their own glow sticks to the party. It’s the perfect way to mark the end of winter break and the beginning of the New Year.

“If you’re looking for something unique and different to do for the New Year, then grab your swimming trunks and some glow sticks and come down to the Kingsport Aquatic Center on January 4,” said Aquatics Program Coordinator Madison Gump.

To register, visit https://bit.ly/49LRBbU. You can also click on the CivicRec link in the Connect Kingsport app or go to www.kingsporttn.gov and click on the “CivicRec” link, then search for “glow swim” in the search bar.

About the City of Kingsport

Founded in 1917, the City of Kingsport (pop. 55,400) is located on the Tennessee-Virginia border at the crossroads of I-81 and I-26 near the geographic center of the eastern United States. The city is widely known as a planned community, designed by renowned city planner John Nolen and wrapping around the foot of Bays Mountain – a 3,750-acre park, nature preserve, planetarium and observatory. Kingsport is recognized as an International Safe Community by the National Safety Council, a Healthier Tennessee community, and won the 2009 Harvard Innovations in American Government Award for its higher education initiatives. While many city names are duplicated throughout the U.S., there’s only one Kingsport – a fact that invokes community pride, known locally as the “Kingsport Spirit.” For more information, please visit www.kingsporttn.gov.
