Map Reading & Compass

Learn how to read a topo map and use a compass to successfully navigate in the wild. The first part of the class will be spent in a classroom setting reviewing the features of a map and compass before progressing to terrain association, navigational techniques and route selection. After completing the classroom portion we will move outside to apply your new skills during a mild to moderate hike in one of Northeast Tennessee’s beautiful outdoor areas.
