Memorial Day Celebration in Jonesborough
The Memorial Day Celebration will take place on Monday, May 27 at noon in front of the Washington County Courthouse.
The ceremony commences with Color Guard Daniel Boone Jr. Marine Corps ROTC, followed by Taps. Citations honoring those who served in World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War and Afghanistan War will be read. Attendees will enjoy musical performances by the Jonesborough Repertory Theatre, the Appalachian Express Chorus and the Jonesborough Novelty Band.
A hot dog lunch for Gold Star Families and veterans takes place following the ceremony on the International Storytelling Center Plaza. The Jonesborough Novelty Band will perform.
