Midnight on Main
December 31, 2016 @ 7:00 pm

The Town of Greeneville announces the return of Midnight On Main, the city’s New Year’s Eve celebration, to ring in 2017.
In its third year, the New Year’s Eve party will bring the community together for live music, dancing, food, drinks, fireworks, and a new addition this year — the Kids Zone, a news release says.
A highlight will be the ball drop by Greeneville Light & Power System during the countdown to a fireworks show above Main Street.
“Once again, we’ll have three main venues for live music — General Morgan Inn, Catalyst Coffee Company and the Capitol Theatre,” said event organizer Amy Rose, public relations manager for the town. “We’re adding karaoke inside the Catalyst and kids’ activities on the street, so there will be plenty of chances to have a great time.”
Midnight on Main kicks off at 7 p.m. with an interactive dance party on Main Street sponsored by Computer Pros and featuring DJ John Deyton.
Also kicking off at 7 p.m. will be karaoke at the Catalyst, sponsored by DTR, Tennessee Inc.
GENERAL MORGAN INN
The General Morgan Inn, an event sponsor, is adding entertainment in the grand ballroom with The Whiskey Sticks of Johnson City.
“The Whiskey Sticks brought a great energy to last year’s Midnight on Main, performing to a packed crowd in the lobby of the General Morgan Inn,” Rose said.
Meanwhile, DJ Robbie Britton will entertain ages 21 and older on the terrace of the General Morgan Inn.
Both parties in the grand ballroom and on the terrace start at 8 p.m., and the entrance fee to both is $30, which includes hors d’oeuvres, the news release says.
In addition to the parties in the grand ballroom and on the terrace, live music also is planned in the lobby of the General Morgan Inn.
Reservations are required that night for Brumley’s restaurant at the hotel, which will be open from 5 to 9 p.m., the news release says.

CAPITOL THEATRE
The Capitol Theatre will feature three bands beginning at 8 p.m.
The Threetles, a local Beatles tribute band, will open the show, the news release says.
Following The Threetles, the Capitol stage will feature The Comet Conductors, a rock band from Kingsport, at 9:15 p.m. and The Billy Crawford Band, a blues rock band from Bristol, at 10:30 p.m.
Food and drinks will be available in VIP seating in the balcony for all three shows for $25.
General admission to the Capitol will be $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under.
For more information on the Capitol’s shows, call the box office at 638-1300 or visit www.capitolgreeneville.org.
CATALYST COFFEE COMPANY
The Catalyst Coffee Company also will feature live music and will offer warm food, drinks and desserts throughout the evening.
Family-friendly karaoke will be provided by “The Karaoke Man” KJ and DJ Services.
More details on entertainment at the Catalyst will be announced soon, the news release says.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
On Main Street, partygoers can enjoy the interactive dance party, a giant screen with video feed from various locations, a selfie booth and activities in the Kids Zone, all of which have free admission.
The Kids Zone is being sponsored by Sleep Solutions.
More details on kids’ activities also will be announced soon, the news release says.
Town officials are reminding the public that alcoholic beverages will not be allowed on the street.
In addition to Computer Pros, DTR, General Morgan Inn and Sleep Solutions, sponsors for Midnight On Main are Landair Transport Inc., Waste Industries, TEVET, John Deere Power Products, Tommie’s Plumbing, Gosnell’s Stereo & Music, Popcorn Video and Creamy Cup.
