Overmountain Christmas Open House At Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park

On Saturday, November 18 th Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park will hold the Overmountain
Christmas Open House from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. This is the perfect occasion to kick off the
holiday season with the whole family. Enjoy Christmas themed stories and trivia, and sing along
with the Colonial Christmas Carolers. The Sabine Hill Social Society will present English
country dancing demonstrations. Participate in making a Christmas craft project and stroll
through the Winterfest Art Show exhibit by the Watauga Valley Art League.
Take the opportunity to do some early Christmas Shopping in our book and gift shop and visit
with local crafters and makers for unique, one-of-a-kind gifts. Vendors’ products will include
handmade soaps, jewelry, greeting and note cards, baked goods, handcrafted bowls, and wood
turnings.
For a special holiday treat make sure to take a horse drawn carriage ride through the park
grounds. Carriage rides will be offered from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM and are free of charge
courtesy of Food City and Jersey Mike’s. Also, don’t miss the chance to visit with the Jolly Old
Elf himself, Santa Claus!
