Silent Synced + Speakeasy Cinema: A Woman of the World
March 19 at 7:00 PM | Pay What You Can
The Jackson Theatre continues its Speakeasy Cinema Series on Thursday, March 19 with the 1925 silent film A Woman of the World. Doors open at 6:00 PM and the film begins at 7:00 PM.
Jazz music will be playing in the theatre as guests arrive. Specialty craft cocktails and mocktails will be available for purchase, along with the full selection of concession beverages. Complimentary light bites will also be available.
A Woman of the World follows a liberal European countess, played by Pola Negri, who scandalizes a small, mid-Western American town with her unapologetic independence, sharp wit, and tattooed arm.
This screening is presented as part of the Silent Synced experience, created by Josh Frank, pairing the film with music from Pearl Jam’s seminal albums Vs. and Vitalogy. Pearl Jam’s nonprofit foundation, Vitalogy, is donating earnings from this project to Austin Women’s Health.
