Textures Exhibit
February 5, 2015 - February 13, 2015
East Tennessee State University’s Reece Museum presents an exhibit entitled Textures. Texture is defined as the feel, appearance, or consistency of a surface. The objects selected for this exhibition represent the textural richness and variety of the Reece Collection. These objects, created by different artists in multiple mediums, represent a time span of over a century. In some cases, artists with regional connections created the works: Suzanne Stryk (southwest Virginia); ETSU graduate Jeremiah Jenkins; and Dan Teis (former Chair of the Art Department at ETSU). On the other hand, works by Enrique Grau (Columbia) and Alejandro Aróstegui (Nicaragua) underscore the universality of texture.
The Reece Museum is open Monday – Friday 9:00 am until 4:30 pm. Admission is free and parking passes are available for visitors by calling 439-4392.
