The Jackson Theatre to Host Free Screening of The American Miracle
JONESBOROUGH, TN – The Jackson Theatre will host a free screening of The American Miracle on Monday, August 3, at 6 p.m. Sponsored by McLeod Organics, the screening is free to attend, with donations accepted to help support programming at The Jackson Theatre.
Inspired by New York Times bestselling author Michael Medved’s book The American Miracle – Our Nation Is No Accident, the film explores pivotal moments surrounding the founding of the United States and the extraordinary events that shaped the nation’s history. Through dramatic reenactments, historical commentary, and interviews with historians and scholars, The American Miracle offers a thought-provoking look at the people and moments that helped define America.
The August 3 screening also offers a preview of the Jackson Theatre’s George & Martha Washington events on Saturday, August 8. In The American Miracle, actor Daniel Shippey portrays George Washington. Audiences will have the opportunity to see him bring the nation’s first president to life in person during the theatre’s August 8 events.
At 2 p.m. on August 8, audiences are invited to Meet the Washingtons, a family-friendly opportunity to meet George and Martha Washington, ask questions, and learn more about their lives during the founding of the nation. Later that evening at 6 p.m. on August 8, the theatre will host Dinner with George & Martha: Be Our Guest “In the Room Where It Happens,” an immersive dinner experience featuring conversation and historical interpretation with America’s first presidential couple.
The American Miracle will be shown at 6 p.m. on Monday, August 3, at The Jackson Theatre, located at 121 W. Main Street in historic downtown Jonesborough.
