Nationally-renowned Backyard Ecologist Shannon Trimboli will teach us how to create our personal pollinator and wildlife oasis.
“Become a Backyard Ecologist: Create your Personal Pollinator and Wildlife Oasis” is our 34th annual Winter Garden Seminar.
About the Guest Speaker:
Shannon Trimboli is a wildlife biologist and educator. Her passion for helping others explore nature and improve their local pollinator and wildlife habitat led her to create Backyard Ecology. Backyard Ecology offers a blog, podcast, and YouTube channel, as well as other opportunities to help people in the eastern U.S. grow native plants, create thriving ecosystems in their yards, and learn about the nature all around them. Shannon has also published two books, has a native plant nursery, and offers consulting for creating pollinator gardens or wildlife and pollinator habitat. She holds a Masters degree in ecology and a Bachelors degree in wildlife biology. More information can be found at www.BackyardEcology.net
About the Seminar:
Do you dream of having a beautiful garden or other area full of pollinators and wildlife? Somewhere that you can sit and relax with friends and family while you enjoy the abundance of life surrounding you?
Many people share this dream, but struggle with turning it into reality. There’s lots of information out there on creating pollinator gardens, but how do you apply it to your unique property, goals, and circumstances? And much of the information out there skips important steps which will help set you up for success.
Join us for this highly interactive workshop where Shannon will guide you through those first steps which she refers to as the heart or roots of your project. Just like your favorite native plants need a strong root system to thrive, spending time developing a strong “root system” for your project will greatly increase your likelihood of success.
Bring paper, something to write with, and your dreams for creating your own personal pollinator and wildlife oasis. You can do this, and Shannon will help you get started on the right path.
The seminar will be held at the Recreation Building on Duck Island, at Warriors’ Path State Park.
