Ever fantasize about being on stage in Nashville while performing a song you wrote? If you have been waiting for the opportunity to show off your songwriting expertise, now is your chance! The first week in February is Tennessee Songwriters Week and there are plenty of chances to perform.
Qualifying Rounds
Locally, there will be four dates and venues for qualifying rounds. They are:
February 1 at Model City Tap House in Kingsport
February 4 at International Storytelling Center in Jonesborough 7:00-9:00 PM
February 5 at Bonnie Kate Theater in Elizabethton 6:00 PM
February 5 at Bristol Country Music Museum in Bristol 1:00-4:00 PM
The Rules
All works submitted must be original works and must be family-friendly. Each venue has a limited number of spots available for performers and you must sign up in advance to perform. Artists must submit the lyrics and a link to a YouTube video of the song being performed by the artist. For all rules and guidelines, visit https://www.tnvacation.com/songwriters-week.
Showcase Showdown
Four winners will be chosen from each qualifier. The winners will advance to the showcase, which will be held at Down Home in Johnson City. Winners from the showcase will have the opportunity to perform at The Bluebird Café in Nashville on March 20, 2022. There will be music producers on hand to check out all the talent.
