Auditions for Liberty: The Saga of Sycamore Shoals
Audition for Liberty: The Saga of Sycamore Shoals!
Tennessee’s Official Outdoor Drama
at Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park
Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 5:00 pm
Passionate about our heritage? Interested in performing in Tennessee’s Official Outdoor Drama? The time has come to audition for the 2017 season!
On Saturday, March 4th at 5 pm in the Visitors Center of the park, Director Tony DeVault and Assistant Director Keith Young will be conducting auditions for Liberty! The Saga of Sycamore Shoals. You will have the opportunity to read for both male and female settler roles and Cherokee roles. If you prefer a non-speaking role, you can sign up to join us in that capacity also on March 4th.
Liberty! tells the stories of the Watauga Settlement during the late 18th century during the early formative years of our country. The Watauga Association, the Transylvania Purchase, the Cherokee Siege of Fort Watauga, and the Muster of the Overmountain Men are the focus of the play and the primary historic events of the 1770-1780 era at Sycamore Shoals. These stories of national significance are a ‘must see’ and we invite you to be a part of our cast who are dedicated to keeping our history alive.
Performances are held in the Fort Watauga Amphitheater the last three weekends in July. Dates for 2017, our 39th season of outdoor drama, are Thursdays- Saturdays, July 13 – 15, 20 – 22, and 27 – 29; shows beginning at 7:30 pm.
