Bristol Ballet: The Nutcracker

This beloved, long-standing classic continues to be a holiday favorite. As Bristol Ballet celebrates its 70th anniversary this season, the dancers are proud to present The Nutcracker to its audiences. Directed by guest director Janelle Tatum Eggleston, this year’s production will have new backdrops, choreography and character development. Ms. Eggleston was director of Bristol Ballet during the company’s 50th anniversary, so it is quite apropos that she is returning for the 70th anniversary celebration. Joined by local community members and professional guest dancers, the cast tells the story about the special gift that Clara receives on Christmas Eve, and the magic that ensues after she falls asleep — from battling mice and soldiers, to the Sugar Plum Fairy and her court of dancing sweets. Whether it is your first time to a ballet or your 70th, you will truly be entertained and charmed. Start off the season with this classic ballet and you will leave with a warm holiday spirit!
