First Day Hike
Start the New Year off right with Roan Mountain State Park’s First Hike of 2017. Join a Park Ranger for a winter afternoon hike along the park’s newest trail, Moonshiners’ Run. We will be hiking approximately 1.5 miles out and 1.5 miles back along moderately difficult terrain. Please be prepared for cold, windy, and perhaps even snowy conditions as the average January temperature in Roan Mountain is 24 degrees! Following the hike, please join Park Staff at the Conference Center to warm up by the fireside with hot tea and cocoa.
