International Quilt Challenge Visits Jonesborough
July 3, 2018 @ 12:00 am - July 28, 2018 @ 12:00 am

The Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center and Old Town Emporium will host the premiere traveling art exhibition known as the Hoffman Challenge in July featuring a collection of nearly 40 quilts and 15 home décor items.
Hoffman California Fabrics was founded by Rube Hoffman in 1924. Rube was a New York textile jobber and a veteran in the garmet district.
Since that time, Hoffman California Fabrics has been designing and manufacturing premium screenprinted and hand-dyed fabrics for independent retailers.

In 1988 the company began the Hoffman Challenge, which has grown to be a unique traveling quilt, and home decor collection.
Currently, twelve collections travel coast-to-coast within the USA and to several Canadian locations. This year the Hoffman Challenge is celebrating its 30th year.
The Challenge started with 94 enthusiastic quilters, and the number of entries has grown to more than 700. While the majority of the entries come from the United States, a wide variety of international entries are also received.

The exhibition will be on display at the Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center & Old Town Emporium Gift Shop July 3 through July 28. The Center’s normal operating hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on the Hoffman Challenge, visit hoffmanchallenge.com or call 423.753.1010.
