StoryTown Radio Show
Celebrate the new school year by coming out to the latest edition of the StoryTown Radio Show on Monday, August 26 at 7:00 pm at the McKinney Center.
StoryTown performs in the format of a live, old-time radio show complete with sound effects, musical underscoring, live skits, and a great musical guest. This month’s show is all about going “Back to School” and will include stories from both current students and alumni from local schools like David Crockett High School. Joining the cast this month are the aptly named The Academics who will be sharing southern Appalachian fiddle tunes. We’ll also have storyteller Simon Brooks with us. Tickets are only $10 and available online at Jonesborough.com/tickets or by calling the Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center at 423-753-1010. This episode is sponsored by McLeod Organics.
The Radio Show is also recorded for broadcast on local NPR station WETS 89.5 out of Johnson City, which can be heard the last Wednesday of the month at 8PM. StoryTown is sponsored by the Tennessee Arts Commission, Gary and Sandee Degner, Trivia with Budds, the Silver Raven, Mountain Empire Cremation and Burial Services, and the Wild Women of Jonesborough.
