Mixing Music and History at Bristol’s Sessions Hotel

There’s a boutique hotel in downtown Bristol that pays tribute to Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia’s deep music roots. The Sessions Hotel opened on State Street in June 2020, creating an experience that can only be found in the place where country music first began.

Just steps away from the Birthplace of Country Music Museum, guests can enjoy an authentic experience in thoughtfully repurposed historic buildings where rustic meets boutique. Each of the 70 uniquely designed rooms and suites note the historical significance of the former 1915 Bristol Grocery building and the 1922 Service Granary Mill with exposed brick, warehouse doors, and original wood. Guests can even sleep inside a mill grain silo and listen to vinyl records, as each room also pays tribute to the 1927 Bristol Sessions.

Inside, you’ll find one of the most popular restaurants in the area, Southern Craft, an upscale wood- fired smokehouse, serving award winning barbecue, classic favorites, craft beer, and handcrafted cocktails. The restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. And, a rooftop bar and lounge (opening soon) overlooks the city of Bristol. Just above Southern Craft, lies a venue for special events and music, including a stage, and balcony. An additional outdoor lawn will host a variety of music and entertainment throughout the year.

Pets are also welcome at The Sessions Hotel, and the Vision Salon and Day Spa is set to open in August 2020 with full service treatments. The Sessions Hotel is a Tribute Portfolio property with Marriott Hotels.
